This step begins with our first visit to your site. We dig deep into your personal story through an interview-type conversation. We also begin to understand your home, the soil, sun condition, potential barriers, and other details that will become important. We go over the Design/Build Agreement and discuss how things work moving forward.

Our initial conversation flows into a "photo conversation," which consists of a Pinterest Board that we use to help us gain an idea of what landscaping elements you love. We want to discover something special about you and include it in your landscape design. Based on the photos you liked, our design team will draw sketches of a proposed design, always looking for your approval and interest.

During this phase, we transform your concepts and ideas into one of our innovative designs. Our designers create detailed drawings, renderings, animation, and virtual modeling to show you the scope of what we are planning to build for you. We present it to you at a design meeting at your home. We respect your opinions, and therefore we take your design ideas and requests seriously.

The complete design package includes pricing, materials, labor, and subcontractors. We have been working with our installation teams for a long time, and they are competitive with their pricing. They do some of the highest quality work in the Dallas area. That's why we hire them. That being said, we work hard to match your budget.

A deposit is due upon the signing of the proposal. Alterra then facilitates the necessary permits and HOA approvals that are needed.

The same manager you work with during the Explore and Design phases also manages the Build phase to ensure continuity within your project. Our goal is to build your landscape flawlessly in a coordinated manner while staying on schedule. During the build, we keep a standing meeting with you every day to keep you informed on the progress of your landscape. You are encouraged to keep close tabs along the way. In fact, we usually invite you to join us as we select materials. The placement of major elements, such as trees or walkways, require your direct approval.

During the build process, we remove trash and debris from your site daily. If a problem arises, we take care of the problem. It's our job to remain positive throughout the build phase and make sure you are completely satisfied with the final result.
