Austin Waters Landscape Design Pool | Carrollton, TX

This Austin Waters project proves that even a compact backyard can deliver a true resort experience when every square foot is carefully planned. The design combines clean architecture, open gathering spaces, and low-maintenance materials to create an outdoor environment that feels spacious, elegant, and inviting.

In a Carrollton neighborhood known for cohesive streetscapes, patio-style homes, and manageable lots, the backyard needed to feel open without wasting space. The layout uses the pool, pergola, kitchen, patio, planters, and planting as one connected outdoor living environment rather than separate features.

The focal point is a custom cocktail pool, perfectly scaled for cooling off during the Texas summer while preserving generous patio space for entertaining. Its clean geometry gives the yard a modern center point without overwhelming the property.

A dramatic cantilevered cedar pergola provides shade without obstructing views of the pool, creating an open, contemporary feel that defines the outdoor living area. The cedar adds warmth to the design, balancing the crisp porcelain pavers, limestone, and pool lines.

Adjacent to the pool, a custom limestone outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill makes outdoor dining effortless. Expansive porcelain paver patios provide flexible seating areas for lounging, dining, and entertaining, giving guests room to move comfortably through the space.

Perimeter magnolia trees and colorful seasonal plantings soften the surrounding fence line, adding privacy and year-round beauty without overwhelming the space. Raised limestone planters add structure and depth, while landscape lighting helps the backyard feel finished after sunset.

Near Bee Creek, Grandscape, the Dallas North Tollway, and the Sam Rayburn Tollway, this backyard gives Austin Waters homeowners a private place to relax close to the activity of Carrollton, Plano, and The Colony. The result is a backyard that feels much larger than its footprint, balancing architecture, functionality, and relaxed Texas outdoor living.
