Cottonwood Creek North Landscape Design | Allen, TX

This backyard renovation in Cottonwood Creek North transformed a standard builder patio into a comfortable, year-round outdoor living space designed for entertaining, relaxing, and spending more time outdoors with family and friends.

In an established Allen setting near Cottonwood Creek, Cottonwood Trail, Stacy Road, Allen Station Park, and US-75, outdoor space is part of daily life. The homeowners wanted more than a simple patio extension. They wanted a backyard that could support cooking, sitting, recreation, and evening gatherings while still feeling clean and easy to maintain.

The centerpiece of the project is a custom covered patio featuring a warm tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling, oversized modern ceiling fans, integrated recessed lighting, café string lighting, and infrared heaters that make the space comfortable throughout North Texas' changing seasons. The generous roof extension creates a true outdoor room that feels like a natural continuation of the home.

A custom outdoor kitchen with premium grilling equipment, stone cabinetry, and expansive countertop space provides everything needed for casual family dinners or hosting guests. Large-format concrete pavers create a clean, contemporary patio that complements the home's architecture while providing a durable, low-maintenance surface.

To maximize recreation without sacrificing lawn space, the design incorporates a premium synthetic putting green and dedicated fire pit seating area. These features give the backyard more than one purpose, making it practical for family use, quiet evenings, and weekend entertaining.

Decorative steel planters, drought-tolerant accent plantings, and evergreen screening complete the landscape while adding year-round color, texture, and privacy. Near Watters Creek, Cottonwood Trail, and Allen’s connected park system, this kind of backyard gives homeowners a private retreat that still fits the active Allen lifestyle.

The finished design delivers an elegant, highly functional backyard where cooking, entertaining, recreation, and everyday outdoor living come together in one cohesive outdoor environment.
