We Specialize in Patios, Outdoor Kitchens, and Pools for Unlimited Enjoyment
Outdoor living in Southlake, Texas should do more than look good. It should solve real problems like limited entertaining space, disconnected patios, unused yards, or outdoor areas that never feel comfortable or complete.
Alterra Landscape Design works with homeowners who want outdoor living spaces that feel intentional and well planned. You receive a design-driven approach that connects your home, your lifestyle, and your outdoor space into one cohesive experience. Our outdoor living design includes kitchens, patios, fireplaces, structures, lighting, and hardscape elements that are planned as a complete environment rather than isolated features.
Instead of guessing how everything will work together, you receive a clear plan designed around how you and your family actually use the space. That clarity saves time, reduces stress, and creates confidence in every decision.
What makes this experience different is the way design and execution work together. The same team designs and builds your outdoor living space, which keeps details intact and communication clear. You stay informed, supported, and involved from start to finish.
Getting started begins with a planning conversation where your goals, preferences, and expectations shape the direction of the project. That conversation sets the foundation for a space that feels right for you and your home.
Our Refined Design-Build Process, From Exploration to Execution
Creativity is at the heart of our landscaping services. Each project is thoughtfully crafted to reflect your personal design style, desired outdoor experience, and vision for relaxation and entertainment. Through our three-step Explore+Design+Build process, we create unique, custom landscapes tailored to you. At every stage, our goal is to bring you joy, endless possibilities, and a design that feels both luxurious and personal.
Visit our Process Page to learn more about what to expect in working with Alterra Landscape Design.
We begin with an on-site visit and in-depth conversation to understand your goals, lifestyle, and how you want to use your space. We assess site conditions, review the Design/Build Agreement, and explore your style using tools like a shared Pinterest board. From there, we’ll create early sketches that reflect your vision and start shaping your ideal landscape together.
Our landscape designers turn your ideas into detailed plans using 2D drawings, 3D models, and material samples. You’ll see how everything comes together and have opportunities to give input throughout. Your complete design package includes pricing, materials, and timeline details, with trusted partners lined up for installation. Once approved, we handle permits and HOA paperwork to keep things seamless.
The same Principal who guided you through design will oversee the build. Daily check-ins keep you informed, and you’ll be involved in key decisions like tree placement and material choices. We keep a clean site, stick to schedule, and communicate clearly from start to finish. Your space is built with craftsmanship, care, and a focus on long-term durability.
